Nineteen Tech students met the challenge of completing a house for a Habitat for Humanity of Central Minnesota family this school year. Sophomores through seniors framed, wired, plumbed and sheetrocked the house.
In addition, students from the YouthBuild program, an after school and summer program, also spent time finishing the home.
Two students from the YouthBuild program will be honored with a certificate of completion on Tuesday, May 30. The certificate of completion allows the students to enter into the construction business with apprenticeship curriculum already complete which helps them earn a higher wage in the business.
The finished house will move to its new location on East St. Germain Street where Youth Build students will finish the work of completing the additional four bedrooms in the basement.
