Volunteers Help Build Talahi Adaptive Playground

April 26, 2017

This weekend was a success at Talahi! Approximately 25 volunteers pitched in on Friday including local Lions Club members and Talahi’s PTA to start building the new adaptive playground for Talahi Community School. After school, many Talahi staff members joined efforts until dusk on Friday. On Saturday, 37 volunteers finished the community build portion in the afternoon. The community and staff really came together to create such a beautiful playground for Talahi students. It was a wonderful experience to be a part of! Many volunteers commented on how cool it was to be a part of the experience! Weather permitting the playground should be ready for kids to play early next week.

Recently, Talahi completed their goal of fundraising $250,000 for the adaptive playground which features ADA equipment and a ramp. A good portion of the credit goes to longtime Talahi volunteer “Grandpa John” Bowden, along with other community donors, including local Lions Clubs and the Lions International Foundation.
