Tech Indoor Band Show
Tech High School band students shared a World United By Music at the 2015
Indoor Band Show. Featuring more than 100 musicians, the Tech band performed
musical selections from Norway, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain and
the United States. Guest musicians from the Central Minnesota community included
Tech orchestra director Kara Mather on the violin, Joey Schimnich on the
consertina, the St. Cloud Fire and Police Pipes and Drums, National Award winner
and Tech junior Connor Hanzsek-Brill on classic guitar, Tech teacher Ayan Omar's
brother performing the Somali national anthem and Buddy King engaging the
audience with African drumming.
Band Director Gary Zwack selected the world music theme to introduce global
music to 9-12 band students and to create a musical environment that celebrates
the rich diversity and musical talent of our community. You can see the Tech
band in action again at the winter band performance on Monday, December 14 in
the Tech Gym.
