Students Win at International Competition
Congratulations to the students who competed and placed at the International Future Problem Solving Conference! The Future Problem Solving Program International provides students with necessary thinking and problem-solving skills which will serve them well throughout their lives. Students from North Junior High and Apollo High School competed against students from 14 countries around the world including Australia, Turkey and Singapore.
The 2015 International Conference was held in Ames, IA at Iowa State University June 10-14. Participants competed in Community Solving (CmPS) and Scenario Writing Team.
The Middle CmPS team from North Junior High completed a project entitled "Communication is KEY!", and earned 1st place at the international competition. Their work focused on improving interpersonal communication in their school community. Congratulations to the students who compete and placed at the international Future Problem Solving Conference!
The Junior CmPS Team from North Junior High completed a project entitled SCCT@1229 and earned 2nd place at the international competition. Their work focused on increasing the safety of the intersection at 12th St. North and 29th Ave. North in St. Cloud, MN. Team members are Grace Fisher and Caleb Dircks.
North student, Jocelyn Filiyaro, also completed a project entitled "CmPS=I.M.P.A.C.T." focusing on increasing school participation in CmPS. She was a finalist in her competition! North students are coached by Karlyn Doyle and Tom Warnemunde.
