With help from Mike Mathiason and Brenda Overboe, McKinley-ALC has purchased a shirt, cup and hat press using Positive Behavior Intervention Supports funds. Stacey Neu at McKinley has been working hard to get the press running. She's made several shirts and cups for ALC. The best part of the project is that student artwork is being used to be make students their own personalized shirt.
McKinley staff and students have been having fun printing the students' artwork on their own personalized shirt. Last week, they incorporated cups and will start making hats next week. It's a positive way for students to display their work. Some gave their shirts to family members. They've also made McKinley shirts and ROAR shirts rewarding students for good behavior. Every day, students show their designs from home or art class. There are three students who are starting a car detailing business and they will make shirts and hats next week to wear while on the job.
