Quarantine Changes

In cooperation with area school districts, and in accordance with MDE and MDH guidelines, we are adjusting our quarantine periods. Beginning Monday, May 3, students who are exposed to a positive COVID-19 case on the bus, at school, or during activities will require a 10-day quarantine period provided the following are true:

  • The student does NOT have symptoms of COVID-19 during the quarantine period.

  • The student does NOT live with someone who has COVID-19 or COVID symptoms.

Alternatively, upon parent/guardian request to the school health office, a student may quarantine for 7 days with a PCR/molecular-negative test (not an antigen test or antibody/blood test) if the test occurred on day five or later after exposure and further criteria are met. Request forms are available from your school nurse and must be returned to the school health office with supporting documentation at least one day prior to the student’s return date. The form cannot be returned to school by a student who has been asked to quarantine. Once the form has been submitted, the nurse will contact you. The student is required to quarantine until the request has been approved.
