Tech Students Excel at MN HOSA State Leadership Conference

Members of Tech High School’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) student organization participated in the MN HOSA State Leadership Conference on March 21-23, along with over 400 students from 29 schools around MN. The event gives students an opportunity to participate in nearly
60 different competitive event offerings, as well as attend educational sessions and network with other students and professionals who are passionate about health care.

The SLC also determines the state’s international qualifiers, who are eligible to attend the International Leadership Conference being held in Dallas, TX in June. Twelve Tech students were finalists at the SLC, and eight of those students qualified for Internationals this year! Tech HOSA’s finalists and international qualifiers and their corresponding events are:

  • 2nd Place, Public Service Announcement: Lauren Brettingen, Kennedy Erickson, Jaclyn Merchlewicz, Rachel Merchlewicz, Melissa Prom (SLC finalists/ILC qualifiers)
  • 3rd Place, Public Service Announcement: Abigail LaLonde, Anna Roggeman, Litsy Zamudio (SLC finalists/ILC qualifiers)
  • 5th Place, Public Health: Allyssa Ley, Paige Putz, Cate Wagener (SLC finalists)
  • 5th Place, Home Health Aid: Mel Litts (SLC finalist)
