Tech Students Gather for Cultural Conversations
The students in the International Club at Tech High School wanted to create an event that allowed students to talk about culture freely. Students brainstormed a variety of events to host. Early in November they came up with "Cultural Conversations." The focus of the event was to get students out the classroom setting into an organized group setting to provide them the opportunity to ask, construct, and enjoy the topic - culture. After a light snack and a short lesson on expectations, purpose, and focus students comfortably progressed through the evening. In groups of four to six, students defined culture, created a group recipe, and participated in "meet someone new through sincere handshake" activity as the exit plan.
