Summer Eats Minnesota
Hello,
I'm writing on behalf of Hunger Impact Partners, a non-profit organization working with the Minnesota Department of Education to promote free summer meals for kids across the state. We are reaching out to you to request your help in getting the word out about the Summer Eats Minnesota mobile app!
We are contacting schools, community organizations, social workers, the media and other non-profits so together we can increase participation in this important nutrition program for kids. Simply search Summer Eats Minnesota and download the free app via the Apple Store or Google Play Store on your smart phone. There is a helpful website too: www.summereatsmn.org which has additional information and promotional materials—with versions in Spanish, Somali and Hmong. All can be downloaded and printed or circulated electronically. Printed materials are available from MDE by contacting mde.fns@state.mn.us.
Please include information on Summer Eats Minnesota in your current communications efforts in advance of the official kick-off of summer. All kids up to age 18 can locate the nearest site, show up at the right time and eat. No registration or prior sign-up is necessary. There are free serving sites across the state at schools, parks, recreation centers, community centers and libraries.
It is important to know summer meal sites are being added weekly and times and days of operation do change so check the mobile app regularly to get the most up-to-date information. Also, please use the feedback feature on the Summer Eats Minnesota mobile app to help us continue to improve!
Feel free to forward this email to others you feel share your interest in supporting kids and summer nutrition! Click on the link below to view the icon.
