Nicole Hansen, Principal
Nicole Hansen is the Principal at Talahi Community School. This will be her tenth year at Talahi. Prior to this position, she was a sixth grade teacher and the Academic Achievement and Student Support Specialist at Talahi. She graduated from St. Cloud State University where she received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies. Ms. Rafdal then attended Saint Mary's University where she earned her Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning and her Educational Administration licensure.
Ms. Hansen is proud to be a part of Talahi's strong passion for teaching and learning and its commitment to keep the students at the center of all decisions. She believes that Talahi's focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) gives students the opportunity to collaborate, explore and learn skills that allow them to prepare for our ever-changing world. Ms. Rafdal is also proud that Talahi's rich culture allows learning beyond school subjects and helps children develop holistically. She is honored to be a Talahi Timberwolf and to serve our community.
Ms. Hansen is looking forward to developing relationships with the students, families, staff and community to aid in her focus on student success and closing the achievement gap. She is excited to create a fun, safe and thriving environment.
Richard Chakolis, Assistant Principal
Richard Chakolis graduated from Augsburg College. He completed his master's degree and administrative licensure at St. Mary's University. Chakolis has taught and coached in several different school district's and has always had a strong relationship with the students. Prior to working at Talahi he was the administrative intern at South Junior high. Chakolis loves working with the staff and students at Talahi and is excited for the upcoming year.
