Full Service Community Schools

District 742 officially launched full-service community schools at Discovery Community School and North Junior High in 2025. The school district was awarded a five-year, $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to partner with community organizations to provide wraparound services at both schools.
What Does This Mean For Your Family?
Both schools will offer a variety of services and programs designed to support the whole family. Think of it as turning our schools into neighborhood centers where everyone can access the resources they need to thrive!
- Health and wellness services right at school
- Exciting arts and recreation programs
- Extra academic support and tutoring
- Family resources for housing, employment and financial planning
- Cultural programs that celebrate our diverse community
- Food access programs
Together, We're Stronger
By bringing all these services together in one place – your child's school – we're creating a community hub where everyone can find the support they need to succeed. Think of it as your one-stop shop for family success, right in your neighborhood school!
Our goal is simple: we want to make it easier for families to access the resources they need, help students achieve their dreams and build a stronger community for everyone.
Building Strong Partnerships
We're working hand-in-hand with community organizations to bring these services to life. From healthcare providers to arts organizations, our partners are committed to supporting your family's journey to success.
Supporting Your Child's Well-Being
Every child deserves to feel confident, understood and supported at school. That's why we're working with experts like Dr. Corey Yeager to help our staff better understand and connect with every student. The Ellison Center will also be there to support our youngest learners' emotional well-being, ensuring they have the best possible start to their education journey.
Health & Nutrition
Getting healthcare and nutritious food shouldn't be a challenge. That's why CentraCare, Central Minnesota Mental Health Center and Greater Minnesota Family Services are bringing their services right to our schools. FACT (Feeding Area Children Together) will make sure families have access to food right at school, making it easier than ever to keep your family healthy and strong.
Fun & Learning After School
Learning doesn't stop when the bell rings! The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota, CAIRO, GREAT Theatre, Wirth Center for the Performing Arts, Paramount Center for the Arts, St. Cloud Police Department and Too Much Talent bring exciting arts programs, recreational activities and career exploration opportunities to our schools. These after-school and summer programs will help your child discover new talents and interests.
