The Welcome Center assists new students enrolling to the district and can provide resources, services and referrals to help prepare them for school.

The Transitional Services program is also housed at the District Administration Office to create a more convenient and welcoming experience for families.

St. Cloud Area School District 742 is an open-enrollment school district and welcomes all resident and non-resident students to its schools. Whether a family is enrolling a soon-to-be kindergartner in the all-day, every-day kindergarten program or is new to the area and has children entering grades 1-12, the Welcome Center can help. The Welcome Center provides assistance in enrolling new students and can also provide support, services and referrals to prepare them for school.
The Welcome Center is the single location for parents and guardians of K-12 students to:
- Enroll new and returning students in the district
- Apply for a transfer to attend a school or program other than the student's assigned attendance area school or resident district
- Record a change of address

Dual Language Immersion Options
Beginning in kindergarten, families choose between a traditional English classroom or a Dual Language Immersion classroom in either Spanish or Chinese, giving your student the opportunity to learn a second language! These programs immerse children in a second language, allowing them to become bilingual at an early age. Learn more!
Early Childhood Screening
Early childhood screening can begin as early as age 3 and is part of the kindergarten enrollment checklist. Schedule an appointment online or call 320-370-8250.
