Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Sydney Vossler

Hello! Welcome to my webpage!

I'm looking forward to a fun year filled with grwoth and learning! In my classroom we'll spend most of the time looking at the impact of historical events from on specific groups of the public as well as the whole! 7th Grade U.S. History ranges from aroung 1800 - present, however, we'll spend some time reviewing the foundation of the United States as well!

My History

I'm originally from Grand Forks, North Dakota where I graduated high school from Grand Forks Central High School (Go Knights!). Influenced by my 9th grade Global Ed teacher, I pursued a degree in Social Studies Educaiton with emphases in history and geography with a minor in political science from Minnesota States University Mooread (Go Dragons!). During my time at MSUM, I worked as an AVID tutor at Moorhead High School where I worked with students who were college or secondary training hopefuls with adverse backgrounds. After graduating from MSUM, I taught Human Geography, World History, and Government at Sartell High School for three years unitil the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

My Present

I am currently shared between two buildings - Kennedy and Tech where I'll teach U.S. History and Human Geography respectively. This is my first year in distrct 742 and I'm so excited to be here! When I'm not teaching, you can find me doing embroidery, reading, playing with my cat, or baking delicious treats. I'm a firm believer that we never stop learning so I'm always reading about new events and strange instances of history!

My Contanct Information

My prefered method of studnet contact is through Schoology message, however, parents are welcome to get in contact with me through my email ( I always have my email up with the sound on so I'll read your email as soon as possible, however, I'm most active and able to reply on my prep periods in the middle of the day and at the end of the day.

My Course

As previously mentioned, U.S. History at the 7th grade level focuses on history from 1800 to present as well as the impact of the leagal founding of the United States. My goal as an educator is to allow students to make informed oppinions of past events while also allowing them time to connect past events to their current world. I firmly believe that history should be used as a tool to help understand the society in which we all live and and its people around us which is what I base my course structure on! If you'd like to view my syllabus - you can check it out below!

Please let me know if you have any questions about me or my course!

I look forward to working with you and your student this year!
