Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!

This is my 8th year as a special education teacher in District 742. I received my teaching license through the Masters of Education program at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN. I also completed my degree in English Literature through Augsburg. Through the study of literature we see life’s complexity, experience life as others do, and better understand the world in which we live, learn, and work.
I chose to become a teacher for many reasons. Ultimately, I enjoy being a support for kids that need that extra guidance and care. It is incredible watching a student make strides toward reaching their full potential, especially when they surpass their own expectations. It's very fulfilling teaching at Talahi because of the dynamic families that I get to know by working together as a team. Helping students reach their own unique potential and become independent learners is an honor and a privilege for me. I look forward to meeting new students and families, as well as continuing to work and grow with returning students and their families!
“Education is education. We should learn everything and then choose which path to follow. Education is neither Eastern nor Western, it is human.”
