    Welcome to my website!!

I am a native of Rice Lake, Wisconsin where I graduated in 1996.  I then attended St. Johns University in Collegeville, Minnesota.  I graduated from SJU/CSB in 2000 with a major in Social Sciences and minors in Secondary Education, History, and Coaching.  As the final piece of my training, I was assigned to South Jr. High and Apollo High School as a student teacher in the fall of 2000.  Following the 2000 - 2001 school year, I was hired at South Jr. High and the rest, as they say, is history.

This is my 17th year of teaching in the St. Cloud School District.  Most of those years were spent right here at South Jr. High.  When I wasn't at South, I was at Tech High School teaching 9th and 11th grade Social Studies.  Currently I am a 6th grade Social Studies teacher for Team 1.  The state mandates that 6th grade Social Studies should be focused on the geography, economics, government, and history of Minnesota.  We will be using a textbook in class titled "Northern Lights" - written by the Minnesota Historical Society.  Student IPads will be downloaded with my textbook that can be accessed 24/7 with no Wi-Fi needed.  Please encourage your student to use the textbook app on their IPads to review content each day and possibly reread if they feel it is beneficial.  If utilized, it can be a great resource for all students.

In addition to teaching, my career has always included coaching - both at the junior high and high school levels.

I currently coach the following activities at South:
    - 8th Grade Football
    - 7th Grade Girls Basketball
    - 8th Grade Boys Basketball
    - 8th Grade Girls Softball

Parents - please email me with any questions or concerns.  I will be updating this web page throughout the year when necessary.  Let's work together to make 2016 - 17 a great year for your students!!!
