Parent Groups
Latino & American Indian Parent Committees
The District is always trying to increase and improve home and school partnerships with parents. In the past couple of years, the district has implemented a Latino parent committee and an American Indian parent committee. The groups meet throughout the school year to collaborate on how both the home and school can increase achievement for students.
The Latino parents committee is co-facilitated by a community partner and the Director of Equity Services, and serves 15-20 parents.
The American Indian parent committee is facilitated by a community partner and the Director of Equity Services, and serves 6-10 parents. These committees meet monthly.
LGBTQIA+ Parent Group
This group is for parents and family of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning students. Recognizing the challenges faced by family members, guardians, and students, this group aspires to create a safe and welcoming space to explore questions, concerns, and hopes.
Next Meeting: March 12, 5-6 p.m.
Future meetings will be determined at the end of each parent meeting. This meeting will allow us to frame future agenda topics based on the needs of our LGBTQIA+ parents/guardian and their students.
