The school board election will be held on Nov. 5, 2024. There are four open seats with terms beginning in January. More information on candidates and where you vote can be found on the Minnesota Secretary of State's Polling Place Finder.

Incumbents, Zachary Dorholt, and Natalie Ringsmuth will retain their seats on the Board of Education along with new Board member Heather Weems based on the unofficial results from the Nov. 8 general election for three, four-year term positions. View the Official Results.

On Aug. 9, the field of eight candidates was narrowed to six at the Primary Election for 3 open seats for four-year terms that will be on the Nov. 8 general election ballot. View the Election Results.

Eight candidates have filed for three at-large school board seats. District 742 has opted into a primary election system which is required when the number of candidates is more than twice the number of open seats. The primary election will reduce the number of candidates to six, whose names will then be placed on the general election ballot on November 8, 2022. The period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of St. Cloud Area School District 742 begins on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, and closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.  If necessary, a Primary Election will be held on August 9. A Primary Election is necessary if there are more candidates that file than twice the number of open seats.
