Scott Andreasen, Treasurer
Andreasen graduated from Minneapolis Southwest High School. He learned sportsmanship while lettering in wrestling. His sophomore class trip to Washington, D.C. exposed him to the workings of government.
He graduated from Mankato State University where he majored in social studies (teaching) and minored in business administration. Andreasen’s first full-time job was as a financial worker for Hennepin County Welfare where he worked with families in poverty.
In his late twenties, Andreasen traveled abroad alone for a year to Europe, Israel and overland to India and Nepal. He learned to appreciate the customs, languages and religions of other peoples. During that time, he learned to say thank you in 20 different languages.
He worked as a claim adjuster in the insurance industry for 15 years before opening Scott Investigation which has now been in business for over 25 years. Andreasen serves attorneys and the general public.
Andreasen appreciates learning and integrity. As a youth, he learned to camp and canoe in the boundary waters. He spent many years in Boy Scouts of America where he became an Eagle Scout.
He has six children. All of whom graduated from St. Cloud Area School District 742. During those years, he attended PTA meetings, Site Council and School Board meetings.
Andreasen is currently Treasurer for the school district. He serves on the Board Development, Policy and Governance Committee, Finance and Audit Committee, and the Achievement, Integration and Equity Committee as well as the Finance Studey Group. He has also served as chair of the Community Education Advisory Committee. He is chair of the Granite Net Fiber Optics Joint Powers Board and Delegate to the Minnesota School Board Association. He is committed to District 742.

Natalie Copeland
In 2015, Copeland co-founded the St. Cloud area non-profit, Unite Cloud, whose mission is to help people in Central MN to know, love, and stand up for their neighbors. She is currently the Director at Unite Cloud and is also a facilitator with the CARE (Community Anti-Racism Education) team at St. Cloud State University. Copeland is dedicated to ensuring that everyone can survive and thrive in Central MN, no matter their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, abilities or socio-economic background.
Copeland believes in District 742 schools, St. Cloud area teachers and in every child within District 742's care. As a parent, former educator and current community leader, she is able to see things from many perspectives and does not take lightly the honor and privilege of serving this area on the St. Cloud Area School Board.

Zachary Dorholt, Vice Chair
Zachary Dorholt is a licensed mental health professional currently working for CentraCare as a therapist in the Jail Medicine and Coordinated Care program. Dorholt graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Cloud State University, and completed his Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. He has worked in the mental health field for over a decade, with a focus on people living with serious and persistent mental illness, and a renewed passion for Trauma Informed Care.
Dorholt is a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, elected to represent MN House District 14B, where he then served as Vice Chair of the Higher Education Committee. He has a strong passion for the community and has additionally served on local non-profit boards including WACOSA and the Central Minnesota Sustainability Project. In addition to a passion for a strong education system, Dorholt took his passion for music and helped start a local non-profit, the Independent Music Collaborative of Central Minnesota, with a focus on supporting local original artists.
Dorholt has three daughters, all attending school in 742!

Diana Fenton
Diana Fenton is an associate professor at the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University in the education department. Her teaching experience spans over the last 25 years starting in ISD 742 as a middle school science teacher at North Junior High before transitioning to higher education. Prior to teaching, she conducted research in the sciences but was informally educating others during her college years. Diana graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor of science degree in biotechnology and chemistry, a master's degree in plant breeding and genetics from the University of Minnesota, a master's degree in interdisciplinary teaching from St. Cloud State University, and an Educational Doctorate in K-12 Leadership from Bethel University. She believes her educational background and classroom experiences provides her with a unique and relevant perspective as a board member. She understands the challenges facing educational systems and embraces technology with a balance of traditional pedagogy and hands-on experience for students. She is a past board member for the Minnesota Science Teachers Association and has served in many capacities for the Minnesota Department of Education as MCA Item Writers, Program Reviewer, and License Portfolio Reviewer.
Diana grew up in Litchfield, Minnesota and is a product of public education. Her parents were role models for being active community members and involved in service organizations. She has lived in St. Cloud for the past 28 years is married and has three adult children.

Shannon Haws, Chair
Except for a 13 year adventure in Alaska, Shannon is a lifetime resident of St Cloud. Shannon was born in St. Cloud and grew up immersing herself in the community's many activities, parks and programs. She has a deep appreciation for St. Cloud’s core neighborhoods, their history and their continuing essential contributions to the depth of this community. As the demographics of our district change, Shannon believes the District should play a key role in embracing diversity. With an increasing number of school options, Shannon is dedicated to making District 742 an exceptional choice for all students. She is committed to the ideal that a strong public educational system is the foundation to a healthy community.
Shannon believes that in addition to excellence in academic programming, District 742's extracurricular activities are a complementary asset in the development of our future generations. Both core subjects and extra-curricular activities contribute to a well-rounded student and citizen.
Shannon graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Human Resources. During her time in Alaska, Shannon lived in a small coastal community. There she enjoyed being a Head Start teacher and Swim Coach. Shannon now works in Waite Park as the General Manager of Comfort Keepers In-Home Health Care. She also works at the St. Cloud Area Farmer's in the EBT/Information Booth.
Shannon and spouse Tim, have 4 children who have attended District 742: Haiden, Zander, Olivia and CrystalAnne. Shannon also has many extended family members in the St. Cloud Area.

Bruce Hentges, Clerk
Bruce and his wife Colleen, have two sons (Ryan and Scott) who both graduated from Tech High School.
Hentges is a life-long resident of District 742. He grew up in Clear Lake and attended Clear Lake Elementary, South Junior High, and graduated from Tech High School in 1968. After earning his B.A. degree from St. John’s University, Bruce returned to District 742 for a 35-year career. He earned his master’s in educational administration from SCSU.
From 1973 until 2008 Bruce held a variety of positions, including teacher and coach at both Apollo and Tech, where he served as head coach in both football and baseball. Bruce also served as activities director at both high schools, transportation director for the district, assistant principal at both Apollo and Tech, and principal at Westwood Elementary School. Bruce was one of the founders of the district 742 Local Education & Activities Foundation (LEAF) and served as its executive director from 2008 – 2023.
Bruce believes that we need to have a comprehensive educational program to meet the needs, interests and abilities of ALL our students. He believes that talent is distributed evenly among groups, but opportunity is not. Public education provides that opportunity for all students to find success in life.

Heather Weems
Heather Weems is a 25-year veteran in higher education administration, working predominantly in collegiate athletics at both private and public universities. She currently serves as Commissioner of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) after serving 10 years as Director of Athletics at St. Cloud State University. She believes strongly in the student-athlete experience and the role athletics/extracurricular engagement plays in preparing students for life and helping them build self-confidence and resilience. She enjoys leading mission-driven organizations by fostering open dialogue, empowering those around her and advancing data-driven decisions.
Heather is mom to four boys, including one Tech High School graduate, and a current senior, freshman, and 7th grader at Tech High School and South Junior High respectively. Her kids have been active in Advanced Placement, National Honor Society, Spanish Immersion, various sports, and other activities through school and community opportunities. As a parent, she has been impressed with the rigor of her boys’ educational experiences in District 742 and values their exposure to peers of diverse backgrounds and cultures that helps them engage and navigate in a multicultural world.
As an Iowa native, Heather grew up in rural communities with five brothers. Her mom was a high school English teacher who also guided/coached multiple co- and extracurricular activities (speech, drama, mock trial, academic decathlon, newspaper, yearbook). Her dad was a farmer turned farm advocate with Farm Bureau Federation and served on the school board in their local district. It was in this environment Heather developed her passion for education and understanding of the need to meet students where they are to help them achieve their potential through a balanced approach of challenge and support. She recognizes the challenges today’s students face, as well as the importance of education to a thriving community, and hopes to provide thoughtful, relevant perspective in her school board service.
