Beginning Choir (grade 6-8)

• Recruitment begins in the spring of the students’ 5th grade year
• Demonstrate knowledge of the foundations of the arts area
• Demonstrate knowledge and use of technical skills of the art form
• Create of make in a variety of contexts in the arts area using the artistic foundation
• Perform or present in a variety of contexts in the arts using the artistic foundations
• Respond to or critique a variety of creations and performances using the artistic foundations

High School Choir (grades 9-12)

Prerequisite: 3 years of choir or by audition

• Demonstrate knowledge of foundations of the arts area
• Demonstrate knowledge and use of technical skills of the art form, integrating technology when applicable
• Demonstrate understanding of the personal, social, cultural and historic contexts that influence the arts area
• Create of make in a variety of contexts in the arts area using the artistic foundation
• Perform or present in a variety of contexts in the arts using the artistic foundations
• Respond to or critique a variety of creations and performances using the artistic foundations
• Other ensembles may be available
