Early Learners

  • In 2013, District 742's Early Childhood Education Program earned the highest possible “4-Star Parent Aware” rating from the Minnesota Department of Human Services. This rating indicates that a school is using best practices that help prepare children for kindergarten.

  • ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) is available for parents and their children from birth to kindergarten entry. With the belief that parents are the child’s first and most important teacher, classes focus on the development of caring, competent and confident parents and children. View the ECFE Catalog online anytime or call 320.253.5828 for more information.

Early Childhood Screening is required by MN law for all children entering kindergarten in public school. District 742 provides a standardized assessment for children ages 3 1/2 to 4. The screening can assist in identifying services that may benefit children prior to them beginning kindergarten.

Preschool is offered in six locations for children of all ability levels. Through hands-on and age-appropriate learning activities, preschool children build confidence and self-direction, learn to follow rules, manage change and resolve conflicts peacefully. Class sizes are kept small in order to provide individual attention for each child. Call 320.253.5828 for more information.
