Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Anna Amacher
Welcome to art class!
I am very excited to start my third year teaching art at Clearview Elementary School!
I absolutely love my job, and love helping young students cultivate a passion for creating!
I graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a degree in Art Education K-12. I was able to do my student teaching at Clearview, which is when I fell in love with the school community and students. My favorite art to practice is watercolor and oil painting.
In Elementary art we focus on teaching students about the elements and principles of art, exposing them to a variety of mediums, and looking at artwork from both historical and contemporary artists. In 5th grade, students are given the opportunity to visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art to see some of the artwork we have talked about in class!
We use a standard based grading system that assesses both student's kowledge and skills. (1-4)
This year will look a bit different, as I will be coming around to student's classrooms through out the day on an art cart, instead of using the art classroom. We have a different schedule this year that can be found on my homepage. Assignments will also be given on Seesaw on Fridays for digital learning.
We will use Artsonia this year, a great online art gallery that holds digital prints of your student's artwork. It also keeps your student's artwork on the portfolio from previous years, and if you choose you can purchase products with images of your student's artwork. More information to come about how to access your student's account at home!
Over the summer I got married, so my new last name is Amacher (a-ma-ker).
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns, I would love to hear from you.
