The Board of Education is composed of seven members elected to serve overlapping terms. The Superintendent of Schools serves as the ex-officio member of the Board without the right to vote. The election of Board members occurs on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November during even-numbered years, and all members are elected at large. New board members take office effective the first Monday in January, following the election.
The Board of Education meets regularly twice monthly on the first Wednesday (work session) and the third Wednesday (business meeting) unless otherwise noted. A brief Board of Education meeting (with consent agenda) held prior to the start of the monthly work sessions if needed. The monthly work sessions are held at 6:30 p.m. at various locations throughout the year. Public input is heard at this time with the agenda immediately following.
The monthly business meeting is held at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Cloud City Hall Council Chambers, 400 S. 2nd Street, St. Cloud. Business meetings are broadcast live on Charter cable channel 179 and re-broadcast on subsequent Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:00 p.m. These Meetings are also streamed live on our website.
