Visual Arts

  •  Visual Art is an important aspect of student development and District 742 includes regular visual art instruction as part of their academic experience. Elementary students experience 50 minutes of visual art per week and have the opportunity to explore a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, weaving, collage, sculpture, photography, and digital media. Middle school programs include deeper exploration of artistic elements while high school programs include specific courses in painting, drawing, and ceramics.

Visual Art students also have opportunities to engage with visiting artists, art club, and develop collaborative projects in partnership with area schools and visual art programs. Student art is regularly on display at Gallery 742 in the Administrative Offices as well as in the Vera W. Russell gallery in the School of Education at St. Cloud State University.
