High School Design Committee Meetings

  • Throughout the summer, the High School Design Committee, as well as specific programming sub-groups, met to carry out the vision throughout the design process. Representatives from both Tech and Apollo are participating in the High School Design Committee including principals, staff/faculty, students, parents, and community members. The committee also includes Architectural Steering Committee members, Teaching and Learning, Technology and Communications staff.

    Scheduled High School Design Committee Meetings at the DAO:

    • June 16: 1 - 3 p.m.

      Members of the High School Design Committee, volunteers with a special interest in sustainability issues, the Steering Committee, architects, construction and design team members and Paul Hutton, sustainability expert, met to establish targets and goals for the new high school and Apollo High School. The discussion centered around alignment of the three basic principles of sustainable school design: Resource Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Environmental Education. Working in teams, the group decided direction and priorities for the High School Design Committee to consider, including waste management, energy efficiency, water usage, daylighting and air quality.
