    Michael Rivard returns to Oak Hill Community School this year as principal for his ninth year. Rivard has served the St. Cloud Area School District for more than 20 years. He earned his bachelor's degree at St. Cloud State University and master's degree from the University of Minnesota. His education administration licensures include principal, special education director and superintendent. He is currently a doctoral student at St. Cloud State University in Educational Administration and Leadership. 

    Rivard finds great joy in seeing each student grow in their academic and social skills. He especially appreciates working with students and their families in creating a welcoming and respectful environment at Oak Hill. As a school leader, he strives to highlight the hard work and professionalism of all Oak Hill staff members as they partner with families and community members. With such a great team at home, school and in the community, he believes every student can succeed!

    Rivard spends the majority of his free time with this family. His wife, Tammy, is a first-grade teacher and their children’s activities keeps their family very busy.

    Interesting tidbits about Rivard: He grew up in St. Paul, enlisted in the Army after high school and proudly served in the Army Reserves for eight years.

Anthony Washington, Assistant Principal

  • Anthony Washington Tony Washington comes from Prior Lake, MN with 19 years of education experience under his belt. Tony began his career as a sixth grade teacher in the Hopkins School District for 11 years. He started his administrative career at Oak Point Elementary/Eagle Heights Spanish Immersion in Eden Prairie, MN and continued his journey as the lead principal at Concord Elementary in Edina, MN.

    Being an elementary administrator, Tony enjoys working with K-6 students. "It is an honor to be a leader at the start of our student's academic journey. My goal and leadership philosophy is to make sure that every child that walks in our doors is ready for the next level of their academic journey."

    Tony, his wife, and three children all reside in Savage, MN. He enjoys playing golf, volleyball, and is an avid Chicago Bear fan! Tony also loves to travel, especially to visit his mother in Mississippi with his six brothers and sisters!
