Michael Rivard, Principal
Michael Rivard returns to Oak Hill Community School this year as principal for his ninth year. Rivard has served the St. Cloud Area School District for more than 20 years. He earned his bachelor's degree at St. Cloud State University and master's degree from the University of Minnesota. His education administration licensures include principal, special education director and superintendent. He is currently a doctoral student at St. Cloud State University in Educational Administration and Leadership.
Rivard finds great joy in seeing each student grow in their academic and social skills. He especially appreciates working with students and their families in creating a welcoming and respectful environment at Oak Hill. As a school leader, he strives to highlight the hard work and professionalism of all Oak Hill staff members as they partner with families and community members. With such a great team at home, school and in the community, he believes every student can succeed!
Rivard spends the majority of his free time with this family. His wife, Tammy, is a first-grade teacher and their children’s activities keeps their family very busy.
Interesting tidbits about Rivard: He grew up in St. Paul, enlisted in the Army after high school and proudly served in the Army Reserves for eight years.
