Welcome to Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)!

 

My name is Kara Gordon and I am a teacher at Quarryview Education Center. This is my sixth year as a liscensed teacher, but my ninth year with the district. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Sociology. I then served two years with an Americorps program called the Minnesota Reading Corps as a preschool literacy tutor at Kennedy Community School. I fell in love with teaching young children and returned to school to get my M.A. in Early Childhood Education. I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a graduate certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. 

 

A little bit about me: I grew up in Brainerd, MN and am the oldest of six kids. I live in St. Augusta with my husband Larry and our cats Khaleesi and Edgar. In my free time I like to travel, read, and do DIY home projects.
