.

2. Principal's Report: Shawn Gombos shared information regarding the process used for staffing Talahi in the 2008-09 school year.

.

3. Focus Questions: Site Council worked to provide Talahi input on 4 District generated focus questions.
1) Do the teachers and administration use assessment data to communicate set achievement goals?
2) Does the school communicate to the stakeholders their achievement goals?
3) How does the school engage parents in the education partnership?
4) Does the school accept and teach the cultural values and norms of its student population?
We discussed how multiple forms of data from CMA results to regular fluency and Rigby testing results are used to drive instruction, who the various stakeholders are in our educational partnerships and how we can further those, shared many examples of parent involvement opportunities and how they benefit our students, and how cultural awareness is shown through the literature available in classrooms and in the Media center as well as through our practices at Talahi. Those results will be shared at the upcoming District Curriculum Committee by Linda Carr as our representative.

.

Next meeting: May 13, 2008. This will be the final Site Council meeting for the year.
